Stockport Sports Village – Maintenance

Maintaining a large sports facility can be a challenging task, but it’s a challenge that we at JG Groundcare are proud to take on. We’re proud to be the contractor responsible for looking after all 10 synthetic pitches at Stockport Sports Village, as well as all six of their tennis courts, the grass pitch, surrounding grass areas, car parks, and ornamental planting.

We have a team of experienced contractors who are dedicated to providing the highest level of maintenance and care to our clients’ properties. We know how important it is for athletes to have access to well-maintained facilities, and we take that responsibility very seriously.

Over the years, we’ve undertaken several projects at Stockport Sports Village to improve the site and ensure that it remains in top condition. Here are just a few examples:

New Drainage System

In 2013, we installed a new drainage system running through the grass pitch. This system helps to ensure that the pitch remains playable even after heavy rainfall, which is especially important in the UK where rainy weather is a common occurrence.

Retaining Wall

Also in 2013, we installed a retaining wall over the top of the head wall. This wall helps to prevent soil erosion and keep the area surrounding the pitch stable and safe.

Rebound Fences

In 2014, we installed a new rebound fence on Pitch 9, and divided Pitches 2 and 3 with a rebound fence. These fences help to keep the ball in play and prevent it from bouncing out of bounds, which can be frustrating for players and disrupt the flow of the game.

High Level Netting

Finally, in 2015, we installed new and re-instated high level netting around the site. This netting helps to ensure the safety of players and spectators by preventing balls from flying out of bounds and potentially causing injury.
